Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone Happy Thanksgiving.

This year I'm going to be at my parents house as every year. And all my siblings will be there as well. Pretty excited about that. Its always nice when were all together.

We don't really have any traditions except to eat until we pass out.

Does any one have any traditions?

This year I am thankful for my family and friends. As well as a place to live and a job. I'm thankful for my puppy and a full belly.

What are you thankful for?

I know. I know. Pick me!

The other day I did a post about a bump on my lip.
Well on Monday I went to the doctor. He knew exactly what it was.
It was a cyst. Can you believe that. A cyst on the inside of my lip.
Well he made a small cut and squeezed out all the puss. (Sorry for the gore)
Then one stitch was put in to close the hole.
But an hour later I was eating with some class mates and one minute the stitch was there and the next it was gone. (So gross and not cool)
O well I guess I wont have to figure out how to get them out in a week.

Lets play what is is!

About a month and a half ago (or so) this bump appeared on the inside of my lip. I didn't think much of it and thought it would go away on its own. (No such luck)
I asked a few people what they thought it would be and they said a cold sore. (I thought that was a little odd since it was on the inside of my lip) But since I didn't know what it was I went with it. I get cold sores about once a year so I called my regular doc to send me a prescription. (No luck with that)
So I asked my father what he thought it was and he told me a canker sore. I called my doc to get a prescription for that but I was told I had to come in since I didn't call it in within 24 hours of getting the canker sore. (Didn't want to have to do that but I wanted this thing gone)
I went in a couple days later for my appointment. I did the regular routine - sign papers, wait, get weighed in, give the usual details to the nurse, wait for the doctor.
My doctor finally came in to see me. She strapped on some gloves and took a look. She pressed down on it and around the area and asked if it hurt. After saying no she took off the gloves and thought for a moment.
She wasn't really sure what it is but told me I needed to go to a dermatologist. So after talking to my sister about her dermatologist I got the number and made an appointment.
I now have an appointment next Monday and I cant wait to find out what it is and get it taken care of.

Lets get sewing!

This last Sunday was a little productive with my quilting.

I completed two more blocks but then got distracted with food (which isn't to hard).

So as the quilt making continues here are the two blocks I completed.

Beard Season!

Its not fall its beard season.

I say this because lately I've noticed more beards and beard talk.

I have a guy friend that calls it "no shave November".

Another guy friend isn't going to shave the entire hunting season this year.

This last one I think is really great. There is someone I know that isn't going to shave their beard until their friend comes home from over seas. And I must say its getting pretty bushy. It'll be interesting to see how long it gets. And I'm not really sure how long he's going to be gone.

Have you noticed this too?

The weekend was one giant snore. But at least I looked cute.

I know I'm a little behind on posting about my boring Halloween night but I'm here now.

On Saturday, the day I dressed up since I had to work Friday, was not as fun as I thought it would be.

I started getting ready around 8 or 8:30 one of the two and had my roommate do my hair. That took about an hour and a half! But I didn't care since it turned out super cute.

Then I went home and threw on my costume (or maybe squeezed into it). Did my makeup and ran out the door.

I met up with my friends Brenna and Beth. They were kidnapping me to go to a party. After I had to wait for them to finish getting ready we had a quick photo taken and then it was out the door.

We got to the town where the party was "suppose" to be but after an hour of searching and the people having the party not answering Brenna's call we decided that they were jerking us around (how childish).

That right there pretty much ruined the night. We also couldn't find anything else to do.

So the night turned out to be a dud and all my prettiness went to waste.

O well there's always next year.

One scary weekend

Since I wont be on the rest of the weekend, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

Tonight Ill be working at the bar as usual and I'm sure that Ill get a few people that decided to dress up for the night.

Tomorrow night I might be dressing up but haven't quite decided if I want to yet. Ill figure that out a later.

Then on Sunday I might be helping my parents get rid of one of their dogs. But what is for sure about Sunday is that we moved our family dinner a week early that way every one can be there. Then later that night I will be going home to dress my puppy as Superman and will be helping my roommate and sister hand out candy.

What is everyone dressing as?

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween.

My first of many quilt blocks

Last night after I posted about starting a new quilt I got started. The sad part is I didn't get very far. I only got one block done. But the good thing is that I got started. Yay me. So hopefully now that I got started I will push myself to keep working at it.

One down several to go....

Quilt number 2....Here we go.

So recently my mom has been pushing me to start working on my quilts.

I have been really slacking. We decided on me coming over on Sundays so she can help me make the quilt.

The one I'm doing is a puzzle quilt and Ive had the pattern sitting in my moms sewing stuff for a couple years now.

Well since Ive decided to become more productive and creative/crafty I'm am going to push to get it done.

And to help me do so I am going to try to take pictures and post them to share with all of you.

Words of encouragement is always welcome.

Class is still in session

An update on my schooling experience...

Recently Mr. DeSalvo (my English teacher) assigned my class a slightly different assignment. We were to find a leaf and connect with it. We are to answer some questions provided by our teacher. Were also suppose to connect with our leaf.

Now I know this is suppose to expand our boundaries and open up our thinking but I'm having a little trouble connecting with my leaf.

Maybe I'm not spending enough time with my leaf.

Any ideas?

.......

Then on Thursday I met with the career counselor at the school to help me figure out what direction I want to go in in my life. I narrowed it down to becoming a teacher but the question is high school or college? I think I would feel more comfortable in the college setting but that means getting my masters.

I guess its back to the books.

Classes

I know Ive gotten behind on my blogging and for that I'm sorry. I hope you forgive me.
But anyway.
My classes have been going pretty good. I'm half way through the quarter. With my Philosophy class Ill be glad when its over. But with my Creative Writing class Ill be a little sad when its over.
We have alot of fun in that class.
The other day in my Philosophy class after we had watched a video my teacher asked if anyone had any 'smart questions'. Teachers can make my day.

Becoming a Bridesmaid

So a little while ago I received a card in the mail from my sister asking me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.

Even though I'm not the bride yet, I am more than happy to be a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding.

Love you Ashy.

Family Sunday.

This Sunday was my family's once a month get together. Where all the kids, my parents, friends of the family or whoever goes to my parents house for dinner.
We had almost all us kids there. We were only missing my big sister, Ashley.
But since my parents started this day it has become one of my more favorite days of the month. Hanging out with my family and having a home cooked meal, life just couldn't get any better on that day.
So we were almost all there and we ate and caught up on everyone's lives.
Beefy burgers (a better type of sloppy joe), jello fluff, strawberry dessert (which for some odd reason we don't eat as dessert), and for dessert butter finger cake (yum).
Cant wait for the next one!

Saying Goodbye.

No I'm not saying goodbye to my followers or my boring blog. However this post is about the past weekend.
I didn't really do very much this past weekend. (Probably should of done more homework than I did. Oops)
Anyway. On Saturday I went to a going away party for someone I went to high school with. Now we don't really talk, him and I, but still its always a little sad to see someone going over seas, even if you dont know them. I'm not exactly sure when hes leaving but I think its some time this week.
One of my friends who is closer to him than I am (she knows everyone) had decided to throw the party. I went and alot of hanging out and drinking.
Its good to know he had some fun before he leaves.

A not so festive applefest.

As I had posted a few days ago that I was going to my hometowns apple fest. And I did go. But it was no where near any fun.

Yes for awhile there I had a little fun. I took my little puppy with me for a short while too.

In the morning I had breakfast with my parents. Pancakes, slice of ham, applesauce (yum). All hosted by our Kiwanis Club. Then I walked around the craft fair with my mom (fun). But mom got tired and I took her home with my puppy.

I went back out in search for something good. No such luck. It started to down pour (boo). So after I could take it no longer I went and picked up my Pumba and headed home.

O well maybe next year will be more fun.

The english language confuses me

I know it sounds weird but sometimes the English language does confuse me. The other night at the bar some one there asked me the difference between breath and breathe. They were sending a text and didn't know which one to use.
They thought I would know but as soon as they asked me I had no idea. Usually I know this stuff, I'm pretty decent when it comes to grammar and stuff but I just didn't know and I made a mental note to look it up after work. Otherwise it was going to bother me like crazy.
So I finally figured it out.
Breath - the air inhaled or exhaled in respiration. Example: Take a deep breath.
Breathe - to take air into the lungs. Example: Give me a chance to breathe.
I feel better and I learned something!

Busy, Busy Weekend

This weekend seems to be piling stuff on me.

Tonight I work. YAY money!

Tomorrow morning/afternoon is Applefest! A festival celebrating fall and well apples for my home town. There's a bigger story behind it but at the moment I don't know what it is. Ill try and figure out the details this weekend and get back to you guys on that. There's food (lots of fried food, caramel apples, candied caramel apples, desserts, blooming onions, funnel cakes, ect.), a car show (this has gotten pretty big), a craft fair (yes new candles for me), a flea market, and so much more. Personally I think they should bring a small carnival in for it but all of this is still pretty good. Anyway I'm going to try and get some good pictures.

Then Saturday night I have three different friends celebrating their birthdays. What to do?

One is my roommate, Ashley, and she and my sister, Mikey, said their going to get their lips pierced and then go to a movie (that's what I'm told from Ashley).

Another one is having a party type birthday at his job because he has to work that night. This works out for him because hes a bartender. Their having a DJ and some cheap bottles. Even though I know its wrong, I can get served there because he loves me (only as a friend though).

The third is having a bonfire birthday some where with some friends. But I think they might be going bar hopping first since it is his 21st.

So there's Saturday for you.

Sunday I might be working but not all night I think mainly the afternoon to early evening. But I wont know until tonight. Then Daniel asked me to hang out with him also. To watch some football and drink some beer. But if I work I might not depending on the hours.

So until Monday. Have a good weekend!

The new man in my life.

You probably thought I was talking about an actual person (I wish). No I'm talking about the next best thing. A new puppy.
He is a Dorky and has been named Pumba. I got him for free from a friend.

When I got him however, he was covered in fleas (so gross). You would barely touched his head and 20 just scattered (yuck).

So after a few baths, most of them were gone and today I bought some flea stuff for him.

He is so tiny and so cute.

The first night I had him he didn't do so well with being stuck in the bathroom and since it was his first night alone. (lots of whining) But last night he did way better. It probably helped that I played with him for a while before bed so that he would sleep.

Were working on become house broke. So far going well (knock on wood). I hope he's a fast leaner.

Wish me luck.

Russell Brand

My roommate introduced me to Russell Brand. Now if you don't know who he is Ill help you out a little.

He played in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

He recently played in Get Him to the Greek (if you've seen this movie don't ruin it for me because I haven't seen it yet).

And he's engaged to Katy Perry.

If you still don't know who he is I suggest you google him. He is also a comedian and I think he's pretty good actually. So I figured I'd suggest a new comedian if your looking for a pick me up.

Your Welcome!

Book Review: Second Helpings

Recently I finished the book Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty. This book is the sequel to the book Sloppy Firsts. I really liked these books. I liked the characters and the problems. Even though I could predict some of the things that were going to happen, I still really liked it. I also found myself yelling at the character for making the wrong decisions but she corrects them in the end. (Hope I didn't give to much away). Anyway I am recommending these books for you to read. Their shorts reads and kept me entertained.

I cant wait for planning to begin.

I don't know what her ring looks like so I had to improvise.

Congrats Ashy and Andrew!

Class is back in session

I feel productive again (YAY me!). My classes have started for the fall quarter!

They started yesterday and I couldn't of been more excited.

I got to the school ready for my first class, Intro to Philosophy. I walk through the doors and see a couple of cops standing around down the hall. Its really not that unusual to see cops just hanging around the campus. There is campus security but if you knew the neighborhood where my college is located then you would understand. (Gangs, drugs, violence, ect.)

Except come to realize that the room that was on my class sheet didn't have the right room on it. I guess they had changed it online but neglected to inform me about it. So I embarrassed myself and was late to my first class.

But after settling in my seat and no longer feeling bad about being late considering a couple other people were late, I realized that I think I'm going to like this class. It helped my judgment that she let us out an hour early.

So I played around on the internet waiting for my next class to start, Creative Writing.

There arn't many people in my second class but I guess that's ok with me (less of a distraction). The teacher is nice and he makes some high goals for his students but I think I can do it. Not to mention he let us out early too (YAY!).

I'm actually a little excited about this quarter and being able to have something to do during the day.

Mac and Cheese Tragedy

The other day after work I was HUNGRY because I hadn't eaten dinner before work.

I wanted Mac and Cheese. Yum. Except after the noodles were already cooked and waiting for the flavor I opened the fridge to remember were out of milk. (Sad face)

I wanted my mac and cheese and I already had the noodles cooked so I didn't want to waste them. I added the butter and the cheese powder that came with the noodles and added small amounts of water. (I don't want to ever have to do that again, its just not right).

No it wasn't all that bad but still.

Just thought Id share that with you.

Sloppy Firsts

Synopsis: When her best friend, Hope, moves away from Pineville, New Jersey, 16-year-old Jessica Darling is devastated. Jessica is a fish out of water at school, a stranger at home, and now—with the only person with whom she could really communicate gone—more lost than ever. How is she supposed to deal with the boy-and-shopping-crazy girls at school, her dad’s obsession with her track meets, and her nonexistent love life? Sloppy Firsts is an insightful, true-to-life look at Jessica’s predicament, from the dark days following Hope’s departure to her hopelessly mixed-up feelings about the intelligent and mysterious bad-boy who works his way into her life. Sloppy Firsts is right in line with some of the great teen crossover works of popular culture, like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and is sure to appeal to readers of all ages who appreciate the inherent humor of high school angst.

My View: I liked this book. I couldn't put it down. And the ending kept you wanting more. Good thing there's a number 2 book I'm reading now called Second Helpings.

My Weekend

Beyond busy weekend for me...

Friday: I worked as usual. It was the last taco night with the old boss. (Kind of sad, hope new boss still does taco night) After work went and hung out with some friends and had a beer or two (don't judge).

Saturday: Got up and went to the Husker game! Went with Ashley, Mikey, and Shane. Ashley isn't really fan of really any team. But she needed to experience a Husker game, and not just on TV. She bought some Husker gear. And she was getting into the game (it just kind of rubs off on you when you see a game live in person). After the game I was really tired and there was nothing to do since it was so late so once we got home I crashed.

Sunday: As you know it was the first Sunday of the month so that meant family day. Sadly not all the family was there. Ashy was at a wedding, I think. Chris was helping out a friend but showed up later to fix moms brakes. However my roommate, Ashley, came because we were suppose to discuss our family trip in May (that didn't go so well). Before we ate, since dinner wasn't ready, Ashley and I went to look at puppies for me. I picked one out because they are so cute and free. The bad part is that I wont get him for two more weeks (I guess that gives me time to pick a name). I'm not really sure what kind of dog he is. A doxen and something mix. (Ill have to find out and let you know)

New In Town

(Now I'm not sure if you like me to do the synopsis or not so let me know if you do or not but for now I'm not sure I'm going to)
I kind of liked this movie. It was funny and you weren't really sure what was going to happen.
And maybe I liked it because I'm from a small town who knows.
I bet you will like it too even if your not from a small town.
Enjoy.

First off.....

I know I haven't blogged in awhile and for that I am sorry.
This weekend was just me constantly doing something.
So I have a lot to catch up on. I guess that's my punishment for not blogging sooner.
Anyway I would like to welcome the 12th follower to my blog. Yay for me!
Why people fond my blog even a little interesting I still haven't figured out.
Anyway I also want to welcome my big sister Ashy to my blog. Even though shes not a follower, as far as I know. She does read my blog every once in awhile.
Now number 12 and Ashy, as well as the rest of my followers, have a guest pass into my brain (good thing or bad thing).
So welcome and enjoy your time in the inner workings of my mind. (Wow I'm weird)

2 out of 5

Its only been 6 days since I got my stitches and yesterday didn't go so well for my knee.
Yesterday I was pretty much yelled at by my roommate and her mom that I needed to go to the doctor because how my knee looked and what it was doing, apparently wasn't normal.
I made an appointment with the other doctor that works at the clinic because my doctor wasn't there. (Not good, I really don't like that doctor) But since I needed to get my knee looked at I made the appointment.
I went in early hoping to get in early and get it over with. No such luck.
When I did get in, we did all the fun stuff before you go in the room. Like weigh me. Same as always. (That's good, I think)
Got back to the room and went through all the questions with the nurse. And then waited, and waited, and waited for the doctor to come in after the nurse left.
I almost fell asleep.
Then he finally came in (right now I'm making a sour face because I really don't like him). He looked at my knee and pressed pretty hard to get the pus to come out. (You only needed to press a little and the pus would come out, not pound on my knee like your trying to get its heart started) (ok maybe I exaggerated on that last part, but that's what it felt like)
So after only briefly looking at it he decides right there that some of the stitches needed to come out right there.
He went over to the counter opened a drawer and pulled out a packet that contained medical scissors and some tweezer like things.
He opened the pack and without very much warning cut two stitched out of my knee. (The first one came out pretty well the second, not so much)
The next thing I know is hes taking the tweezer looking things and digging around in my wound to get some of the infection out. (OWWWW)
I guess the reason that I got the infection in the first place is because the antibiotics I was given weren't very good ones.
So now I'm on antibiotics again but not just one, nope I'm lucky and get to take two different antibiotics for the next seven days. (Yay me! Not)
I hope everyone elses week is going better than mine. Happy Friday!

The end of my weekend

So yesterday my friend wanted to go out to our local lake. Which to normal people isn't really a lake just like a really big pond.

Anyway I said yes even though I wasn't exactly feeling the greatest but I figured I might was well get out and soak up some sun while I can.

I took some Tylenol, put on my swimsuit, and headed for the beach.

We got there and there were only a few people there which is always good. (More room for us)

We had brought my friend, Brenna's, cousins and little sister. And we invited a few friends out.

After tanning for a little bit then going into the water for a little swim. We went over to the dock, where people fish, to watch Brenna's cousins to make sure no one drowned or something.

I sat down and was soaking my feet and getting the sand off. I stood up and watch them push each other in. I made the comment I didn't want to be pushed in. So we stood there and talked. I had my back turned and Brenna felt the need to run up behind me and push me in.

I had my hand on a pole that holds the dock in place. And as I had stated earlier that I didn't want to be pushed in, I held onto the pole for dear life.

I was already close to the shallow end even when I was standing on the dock.

Needless to say I ended up landing on some rocks. (Owww)

So as soon as I get out of the water I realize my knee hurts a little bit, I look down to a trail of blood running down my leg. (O great, now I don't feel good because apparently I developed a thing where I don't like blood.)

So I walk to the car with my vision not at its fullest because Ive become light headed. And I call my father because he's an EMT and I trust his judgement.

He thinks I should at least go to the ER so I can get a tetanus shot since I don't remember the last time I had one. And since you never know whats in that water I really wanted one.

I have Shane, my sisters boyfriend, come to the lake to bring me some gauze and take me to the ER.

I get to the ER and meet up with my mom and dad. We go in and I get to go get some stitches in my knee. First time for stitches for me. But the doc was nice enough to numb me up twice. I couldn't feel anything. And he kept saying he was sorry if he hurt me.

So he prescribed me some antibiotics but no pain killers. And I wish he would have after the numbing stuff wore off.

Only a couple days on antibiotics and 12 days with the stitches in and I should be back to normal.

The fun doesnt stop there.

During the weekend after work one night I couldn't find anything to do and I was feeling pretty down about it.

Anyway I decided I was hungry, like a lion, and wanted to make me some food.

Now I wasn't super hungry because I ate some food before work but anyways.

I decided on a couple eggs. (Good choice Lindsey, *pat myself on the back*, they were really good in the end.)

So I got through with my first egg. Success! Then right as I'm putting my first egg on the plate in the corner of my eye I see something moving.

I had set the other egg on our microwave cart to be closer to the stove so I wouldn't have to move around alot and could just reach over and grab it. (Bad Idea)

The next thing I know as I'm turning my head I watch as it falls to the ground. (Great, just what I needed)

So now the first egg is starting to get cold while I have to clean up the second egg off the floor, while yelling at little man to stay out of the kitchen because I didn't want him to eat it.

So got the mess cleaned up and its back to the stove to make a second egg. And they did end up tasting really good.
Although the good thing is I now know which way our kitchen floor slants.

Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies.

So the newspaper my parents get has a section where they put a recipe or two for that day.

One day this one caught my eye.

As you can tell from the title of the post that they are Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies.

Its pretty simple actually.

Your suppose to get a box of brownie mix and make as directed.

Then you microwave about a 1/4 cup peanut butter until melted.

After you've put the brownie mix in the pan, you pour the peanut butter over the brownies and swirl it around.

Then you bake the brownies as directed on box.

And since I cant just give you guys some random recipe without trying it myself. Of course I had to eat one for 'testing purposes'. There not bad but their not roll-around-on-the-floor-orgasm brownies. I honestly think I used to much peanut butter because I didn't measure it out like I was suppose to I kind of guessed at it.

O well. Don't worry next time Ill give you guys a really good recipe, promise!

Im on a boat... Or maybe just crashing into one.

Ok first I just want to say that I really don't like the song, I'm On A Boat. But it seemed to go with this blog post.

I know its been a couple days since Ive blogged about anything but Ive been busy, and I would like to once again apologize for that.

Well what has happened since the last time I blogged.....

Some day last week Ashley, my roommate, showed me a picture of what my friend decided to do to her car.

I'm going to give you some detail and you can make your own decision.

She wasn't texting (so she say), it was in the afternoon so it wasn't dark in any way shape or form, and she was completely sober because she was on her way home from school.

Now apparently she decided it would be a good idea to crash her car into a non-moving boat that was not hooked to a car and was parked in the owners driveway.

Now you tell me if that doesn't sound a little odd to you?

Not to mention the only time that she has a probably driving is when she is texting because she has her phone in her lap and doesn't look up every once in awhile to make sure shes still in her lane.

The reason why I'm being a little mean is because hasn't really told anyone what really happened.

And don't start freaking out when you see the picture because all she did was sprain her wrist. And the boat is ok!

Hey sorry to keep you waiting

Ive been pretty busy the past couple days and have had some crazy stuff happen. And today seems to be another one of those days.

So your going to have to wait a little while longer, for those that take the time to read my blog, until I'm able to sit down for 5 minutes at a time to tell you whats been going on.

Sorry....(Man I miss this game)

Am I not turtle enough for the turtle club?

Not only is that a great movie (The Master of Disguise) but it also goes along with today's blog.
Last night Ashley's mom rescued a small turtle from the highway while at work. She decided that Ashley and my self's home would be good for it.
She brought it to the house around midnight once she got back into town from work. He arrived in a box and she had bought it some lettuce to munch on.
He now is living in our bathtub until we are able to get him a better home.
We haven't named him and were not even sure that he is a he.
This is my first time owning a turtle, even though Mikey and Shane have two and my sister, Ashley's, boyfriend, Andrew, has a tortoise.
Any ideas for a good name?

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Last night was a pain in my side.

I worked, of course, last night at the bar. It was slow and my favorite regulars didn't come in.
Anyway I got home, not long before Ashley left for work.
I was comfy on the couch in a pretty decent mood (minus the anger towards Daniel) writing to my pen pals.
Then I received a call from Ashley asking me for a favor. Of course I hate when she asks me that, because I'm probably not going to want to do it but end up doing it because there's no one else to do it. She had left her bank card on the table and she doesn't carry cash. Not to mention she buys food during her shift at work so she needed it.
I agreed, sadly and angrily to do it. Knowing that it was going to take time out of my night when I was the most productive.
As I started my trip to where she works I was still arguing with Daniel, over something that didn't need to be argued and I apologized this morning for it. So not only was I sad and upset about that but I was also angry because I had to do Ashley her favor.
You know with all the favors Ive done her, she is going to have to do something really big to make up for all of it.
Anyway. Not only was I on a country highway but I also had to keep my eyes open for deer that might be in the ditches plotting to make an attack on my car.
Then when I was a little less than half way there it started to rain. Not to bad at first but then it started to down pour and I could only see a few feet in front of me slowing me dramatically in my quest to make it there safely.
I finally made it. But the rain hadn't let up and I wanted to get home and be comfy again. So at my slower that a grandma driving pace, I made my way back to my comfy couch.
And during my long drive I had time to calm down and allow myself to be in a better mood when I arrived home.

Breaking Dawn

Synopsis
BREAKING DAWN, the hotly anticipated fourth and final book in the bestselling crossover teen vampire series Twilight, wraps up some very important questions in the gripping and wildly romantic story of Bella Swan. Split into three sections, one of which is narrated by werewolf Jacob Black, the story opens with Bella driving along, thinking about her impending wedding to Edward. Although it seems that she's about to get exactly what she wants, Bella has no idea what lays in store for her: a near-death transformation, an all-out vampire war, and many painfully divided loyalties.

Well I finally finished the Twilight saga. I think the beginning was rushed. And I'm not really sure I liked the ending I cant really say to much because I don't want to ruin anything. But the middle of the book I thought was pretty good.

I have decided that I like reading the book before watching the movie, otherwise I know whats going to happen in the book.

Bar stories (caught up)

So I have a few interesting bar stories that I feel need to be posted for everyone elses entertainment.

The first one involves one of my regulars. He keeps trying to buy me a drink while I'm working. I choose not to have one because A) I'm only 20, B) My boss knows how old I am, and C) I don't want to risk my job because they want to buy me a drink. Me denying him doesn't stop him it only slows him down for the night. Anyway, since Ive been turning him down he thinks that I don't drink at all. Then he came to the conclusion that I am an innocent girl. Then he suggested that maybe because I'm so innocent I need to join a convent. I guess it couldn't hurt. They take you in and keep you clothed and fed.

The second involves the same regular (you can see a pattern). He had noticed one of my tattoos because when I was reaching for something my shirt came up slightly and he saw it. He mentioned it and then we got on the topic of my tattoos. How many I have? Where are they? Stuff like that, the usual. Then he asked if I had a mouse tattooed down there, because what eats mice? Of course I don't. He was a little disappointed. But then he suggested that I get it.

The last story isn't really a story but a recap of Friday night. Friday night was of course taco night. So our kitchen help, Brett, was there. And he was flirting a little even though he has a girlfriend, but it was just something that kept the night entertaining. And my regulars came in as usual. At the end of the night though my boss decided to would be a good idea to scare the crap out of me. He explained that he had sold the bar. Luckily the guy that bought the bar is going to keep the bar as is and not change it into a completely different business. He said that the new guy might hire me on. (Fingers crossed) He explained that their going to be having a meeting about it some time soon in the future.

My cars twin?

A few mornings ago my father called me out of no where and asked where I was going.
Of course confused from his question and slightly still asleep I asked unsure what he was talking about.
To my question he replied that I had just passed him.
Still confused I told him I didn't know what he was talking about because I was at home sleeping.
He explained then that my car or what looked like my car just passed him.
That woke me up the rest of the way making me think that my car had been stolen.
I went straight to the front door with my phone still on the call with my father.
I looked at the door and luckily my car was sitting in my driveway.
After I went back to sleep and then got up for the day I remember that a few days after I had gotten my car my friend, Aaron, had called me asking why I had flipped him off.
I was the same story with my father. They thought someone elses car was mine.
Because apparently this car is the same color as mine and has a sticker in the back window as mine.

Mothes Day 2010

Did you know?!?

Recently I stumbled upon an app for my Ipod. An app that just gives you useless knowledge. And I love useless knowledge.

So I decided to share some of that useless knowledge.

'The magic word "Abracadabra" was originally intended for the specific purpose or curing hay fever.'

HELP! Please anyone?

I would love some help right now. I'm just really new at this and its not like the site gives you instructions on how to do it, which maybe they should or they do and I'm not looking in the right places.
I want to be able to grab your buttons and what not and I want to make my blog friendlier.
Could anyone give me some advice. Particularly on how to add stuff to my blog, such as buttons from other blogs.
Thank you!

Thats not my real name.

Trough out the years I have picked up a few nicknames along the way.
1.) Lin / Linz. We used these because there were more than one Lindsey in my class and after awhile I got tired of trying to figure out which one they were talking to.

2.) Debbie Downer. Since I was more of the responsible one in my group of friends and I wasn't as happy as them they gave me this nickname to describe me.

3.) Ms. Bartender Lady. My sister, her boyfriend and his friend came to the bar a few nights after I had started working there. Of course they had already had a little to drink before they got there. I don't know how this popped into my sisters head but to get my attention she would call me that and it has stuck even for when I'm not working at the bar.

4.) Dolley. One of my regulars couldn't remember my name after working there a couple of days. He decided to guess and he guessed wrong. Instead of calling my Lindsey he called me Dolley and now as kind of a joke the boys at the bar call me that to get my attention.

And finally one of the last ones.

5.) Pooh Pooh. No it doesn't have anything to do with what comes out of you when you go to the bathroom. I love Winnie the Pooh. I watched him all the time when I was a kid and collected stuffed animals of him and the gang. (I kind of still do here and there) But at some point in time my mother decided to start calling me that. And I still get called it to this day. But it reminds me of my childhood so I don't mind as much.

A day Through my Eyes!

So I decided to let you see what I see through out a day. Nothing big or fancy but a few photos to entertain you.

Feeling hungry. Made some chicken Alfredo (I made the chicken pretty fatty but it was good).

Captain getting use to his new home.
An owwy but everything is better with a wicked band aid.

The end of the day has finally come and Lil Man is ready for bed.

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

On Saturday I went with my roommate to the Nebraska Humane Society. We were in search of a puppy/dog for me. Ashley and Mikey have decided that for my Christmas present they were going to buy me a puppy.

So we went to see if I could adopt one that day. We arrived in high spirits, hopeful that one of the cute dogs would soon be one to call my own.

There were already alot of people there wanting to adopt their own animals.

We filled out the form and got our buzzer to let us know when it would finally be our turn.

We looked through the cats and at the critter corner to see if maybe Ashley would find another pet to own.

When we first got there the woman at the desk told us it would only be about an hour wait. An hour went by not to fast but not to slow either. But by this time we were both getting a little irritated from waiting.

So since we were waiting for someone to assist me in finding the right dog for me, Ashley decided she wanted to get a ferret. We put in her form to look at one and she got her buzzer as well. The wait for an animal continued.

There wasn't much call for people to look at ferrets so Ashley was able to get in and hold the ferret she thought she wanted. It only took a matter of minutes before Ashley decided she wanted him. So she was off to adopt him. Right after we get to the counter to put the final touches on officially adopting him my buzzer decided it was time for me to choose my dog.

My person (I don't remember her name) was extremely up beat and almost made me want to throw up from her happiness. But we went back to the kennels with the dog and started looking for a smaller dog that would fit comfortably into our home. Ashley and I should of went back there and looked at the dogs before we waited all that time because when I went back there with my helper I only found bigger dogs. (We would of gone back their earlier but the lady at the front desk told us that we had to wait for someone to go back there with us to look at the dogs. Needless to say that was a total lie!)

So Ashley walked away with a new ferret that she has now named Captain. And I walked away empty handed for the second time in getting a dog.

You may be wondering about the first time. I hadn't blogged anything about getting a dog earlier because I didn't want to jinx it but it didn't really matter. A couple of weeks ago I was suppose to be getting a dog from Ashley's Aunt because she no longer wanted so many dogs (she had 4). It was getting close to the day for us to go pick him up and I was starting to get excited I even got him a little toy. But not to long before I was suppose to get him Ashley called me up at work and told me her cousin had thrown a fit and now I was not going to be getting the dog.

I guess Ill just have to keep looking.

Friday the 13th. Should I hide under my bed?

Today is Friday the 13Th. And since there's nothing really exciting going on in my life at the current moment, I thought Id share with you some superstitions pertaining to Friday the 13Th or just the number 13 in general. These are somethings I found on the web.
*If you feel it needed to add or correct anything you are more than welcome to.

-More than 80 percent of high-rises lack a 13Th floor.
-Many airports skip the 13Th gate.
-Airplanes have no 13Th aisle.
-Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.
-Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.
-On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.
-Many cities do not have a 13Th Street or a 13Th Avenue.
-In France, socialites known as the quatorziens (fourteeners) once made themselves available as 14Th guests to keep a dinner party from an unlucky fate.
-Many say the No. 13 pointed to the ill-fated mission to the moon, Apollo 13.
-If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck (ie. Jack the Ripper)

Below is a list (hauntedbay.com) of some other unfortunate events that took place on Friday the 13Th.
•July 1951: The Great Flood killed 24 people, destroyed more than 2 million acres of land in Kansas and caused $760 million in damage.

More Friday The 13Th Facts (hauntedbay.com)
•In a traditional hangman's noose there are 13 twists of the rope and 13 steps to the gallows.
•Many buildings don't count their 13Th floors. You'll see on their elevators that the numbers skip from 12 to 14.
•There is no 13Th Avenue in San Francisco, instead Funston Avenue is between 12Th and 14Th Avenues.
•In Formula 1 racing, there is no car with the number 13. The number has been removed after two drivers were killed in crashes, both driving cars numbered 13.
•Killers Charles Manson, Saddam Hussein, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Theodore Bundy, and Jack The Ripper each have 13 letters in their names.

And since it's Friday, we have to keep it light and give you a YouTube clip to watch. This one is of a Nike commercial that uses "Friday the 13Th" killer Jason Voorhees' likeness. No Friday The 13Th Superstitions here.

The Other Guys

Yesterday Daniel and I finally went on our movie "date". We went and saw The Other Guys. This should be a nice change of pace from my last movie reviews because this movie is still in theatres!

Description:
Detective Allen Gamble is a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets. Detective Terry Hoitz is a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Highsmith, but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned.

It was pretty funny. But I guess it wasn't what I thought it would be. I knew it was suppose to be funny but not as funny as I assumed it would be.
