New In Town

(Now I'm not sure if you like me to do the synopsis or not so let me know if you do or not but for now I'm not sure I'm going to)

I kind of liked this movie. It was funny and you weren't really sure what was going to happen.

And maybe I liked it because I'm from a small town who knows.

I bet you will like it too even if your not from a small town.

The Other Guys

Yesterday Daniel and I finally went on our movie "date". We went and saw The Other Guys. This should be a nice change of pace from my last movie reviews because this movie is still in theatres!

Description:
Detective Allen Gamble is a forensic accountant who's more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets. Detective Terry Hoitz is a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city's top cops, Danson and Highsmith, but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don't quite go as planned.

It was pretty funny. But I guess it wasn't what I thought it would be. I knew it was suppose to be funny but not as funny as I assumed it would be.

Cop Out

A comedy about a veteran NYPD cop whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since its his only hope to pay for his daughters upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster.

This movie was ok. Ya Id watch it again. It had its funny parts through out the movie but it wasn't a constant. But I wouldn't run right out to buy it to watch it again. This is one of those movies you would pick out of your DVD collection on a boring day to pass the time.

She's Out Of My League

Kirk, an average Joe, cant believe his luck. Though hes stuck in a seemingly dead end job as an airport security agent, against all odds, Molly, a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, has fallen for him. Not only is Kirk stunned, but his friends, family and ex-girlfriend, too. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though he'd be the first to admit that she totally out of his league.

I LOVED this movie. It was so funny. It was beyond funny, it was a master piece. If I could Id go out and buy it right now to watch it again and again. Although it dragged a little at the end it was all worth it. A must watch!

When in Rome

Disillusioned with romance, an ambitious New Yorker travels to Rome, where she plucks magic coins from a special fountain. The coins attract an assortment of odd suitors. But when a persistent reporter throws his hat in the ring she wonders if his love is the real thing.

This movie was pretty good. Would I own it to watch it again, that's not certain. I mean yes it was a good movie. And I could really relate to the main characters way she felt about love, that when you find someone perfect your always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The Book Of Eli

A lone hero must fight his way across the wasteland of post-apocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that holds the key to saving the future of humanity.

I LOVED this movie! The fight scenes were very well played. I want to own this movie. There is some humor in it and it makes the movie that much better. I'm still uncertain if I like the ending or not. I would have to watch again to make a final decision. But I think this movie is a must watch. Decide for yourself.

The Wolfman

Lawrence Talbot learns of his brothers disappearance and returns home to find that his brothers body has been found. Lawrence sets out to find his brothers killer and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Someone or something has been killing the villagers.

I thought this movie had a good plot but could you have cut out half the movie and it would of been just as good. It just seemed to drag on and on. I almost thought there wasn't going to be an ending. Would this be a movie I would watch again, HECK NO! The only way I would watch it again is if I could edit it and make it shorter.

A Triple Movie Review

That's right a triple threat of movies. Ive watched a few movies lately and figured Id let you guys in on them.

This first movie is Frailty.

An FBI investigation that takes you into the Meiks family lives. Fenton, a son in the Meiks family, has flash backs from his childhood. Claiming he knows who the "God's hands" killer is.

This movie was pretty good. A little twisted but decent. Then half way through the movie is changed up a little bit. You have to follow it a little bit but in the end it makes the movie more interesting, in my opinion.

The second movie Hard Candy.

A teenage girl is going to a local coffee shop to meet up with a 30 something man she met on the internet. But as the night goes on the turns out that Hayley isn't so innocent.

This made for an interesting movie. There were alot of twists and turns. You had to pay attention during some parts or you weren't going to get the full details of some. It was kind of good but I'm not sure if it would be one of those movies Id watch again.

The third and final movie is Night Of The Living Dorks.

Three losers in high school are turned into zombies for a night after attempting to try their hand at voodoo. Now they can seek revenge on the people that have bullied them for so long.

This was originally a German film and the voices were changed to English. So the voices are a little off. It is slightly annoying but you don't notice so much as the movie goes on. There was a lot of humor. Not that all the jokes were funny or at least I didn't think so. Yes there are some pretty funny parts but Id probably only watch this again if I was pretty bored.

Now don't start freaking out. There will always be more movie reviews another day because I am addicted to movies. How to train your dragon.

Last night before I went to bed I decided to watch How to train your dragon.

About a boy who doesn't fit in and then becomes friends with a dragon.

Ill stop there I don't want to ruin it for you. But even though this is probably more of a kids movie, and I hadn't heard anything about this movie I thought it was super cute.

I love the dragon the best. He reminded me of a dog.

Anyway, I thought this was a good movie even if it might of been made more for kids.

The Crazies

Yesterday my roommate Ashley and I received the movie The Crazies from our netflix (gotta love netflix).

So last night I decided to watch it, that way we could mail it back and get a new movie faster.

What happened in the movie was not what I expected to happen.

Sure some parts were good. But some parts just didn't live up to my standard.

Granted I don't really like scary movies and I make fun of them ALOT!!

Don't get me wrong I was super happy to hear that the movie was filmed in Iowa (my home state) which is super big. But what I saw in the previews for the movie made me think it was going to be better than it was.

O well.

You can watch it and decide for your self what you think of it. I'm kind of stuck in the middle of how I feel about this one.

The Time Travelers Wife

So the other day I watched a movie with my parents called The Time Traveler's Wife.

Its about a time traveler and a girl that falls in love with him when shes a little girl.

That pretty much the plot of the movie. This was the first time I'd seen this movie and it'll probably be the last. Now I'm not saying it was a bad movie it just wasn't a movie for me.

The plot was good and the ending could of been a little better, but it just didn't appeal to me.

So if you want a chick flick for the night Id suggest this movie.

Translmania

So along with being a lazy pile today I decided to watch a new movie.

The previews looked funny, but don't they always? And that's the main reason why I wanted to watch it.

But sadly I was discouraged to find out that it was not as funny as I assumed it would be. Its more of a younger generation of funny. There were a few funny parts but not enough to make me want to watch it again.

Its about a college in Romania. That a bunch of US kids go to. Where they come to find out there are vampires running around.

If you want to watch it I wont spoil it for you but I'm just saying it wasn't for me.

WARNING: This documentary is not for people with a weak stomach.

I loved this documentary. It was so eye opening.

This documentary is all about piercing, tattooing, plastic surgery, and any type of body modification. With different points of view from the piercers, tattoo artists, body builders, and plastic surgeon's.

This documentary involved a subject that I like and for the most part believe in.

Now I know everyone has their own opinion about these subjects, but watch this movie and you'll get a different aspect.

I even learned things. And trust me when I say that this movie is not for people with a weak stomach. If you like to watch pain being done to others this is your type of movie. The movies shows actual surgery's, tattoos being done, hooks being inserted into the skin, people hanging from hooks, and even one piercer doing his own piercing. I even had to stop the movie a couple times because I thought I might throw up but that's just the way my body works.

I believe that most people need to watch this for an intense learning experience.

Julie and Julia

I have just finished the movie Julie and Julia.

I know its been out for awhile but I'm just getting back up to speed with my movies.

It was cute and some of it wasn't always what I expected.

I learned many things that I did not know about Julia. Well to be honest I didn't really know anything about Julia. I all I knew was that she was a person that loved to cook.

I also did not know that this movie was based off of a real person named Julie's blog.

I guess we can all become inspired to do something. Take me for example I am writing this blog because it gave me something to do, I wanted to try something new, I love to write, my cousin just wrote a book because of her blog, and now this movie gives me more inspiration.

Women In Trouble!

Wow so I just watched this weird, crazy, hilarious movie. Since I have nothing better to do on a late Sunday night, I went to my Netflix account on my computer and picked this movie out, since I had never seen it.

Women in Trouble

It seemed like a lower budget film, with some frames out of focus, but a really good story line. There are some bigger names in the film.

Its about several women, most but not all of them connected to each other in some way or another.

Combining a cast of characters from a porn star to a shrink.

In some places of the movie it leaves you hanging a little bit but keeps you highly entertained.

In my opinion the hospital scene is one of the best.

The porn star is watching the daughter of her new friend, both of them smoking some cigarettes (don't judge that last sentence until you watch the movie). I don't want to ruin anything, not that you ll understand this conversation without watching the movie but here goes because this just kept me laughing.

"Why do they call them adult movies if there so juvenile? Its a euphemism. Whats a euphemism? A polite way of saying something that drags all the fun outta saying it. Like saying a plastic vagina is a novelty item."

Another conversation that just kept me laughing went something like this.

"Can I change my middle name? You don't have a middle name. I know but I wanna change my name to Charlotte D Hunter. Whats the D stand for? Danger. Danger is your middle name? Dangers my middle name!"

Trust me on this if your going to trust me on anything. If you think you have a sense of humor like I do then like this movie. Try and watch this movie, it'll be good for your insides.
